A friend for the Cross Country rider.

Nepaug is located off Rt. 202 in New Hartford. It is connected with the Connecticut blue trail. Nepaug is home to nature walkers, bikers, and off-roaders'. There is a parking lot at the entrance. A service road and main entrance into the state park lies to the right of the parking lot. This is the main was to enter with your off-road vehicle.

There are many trails in Nepaug including some impressive jumps and drops. These biking trails are good for Cross country, Mountain, and light Free riding. There are some tricky up hills that are very rocky but not too steep. Along with going up hill the rider can experience some very fluid downhill transitions. The downhill experiences are great for all riders. Rocks and jumps are clearly visible and can be avoided if need be. Note that there are some parts of the trail that beginners might choose to walk down considering the steepness or the difficulty factor.

One of the nicer, newly rebuilt, and easiest to access jump is the power line jump. This jump starts at the to of a hill where a power pole, of course, is located. is has a bit of a rocky downhill but leads into a smooth landing and into a series of small jumps leading down the trail.

Another more popular area in Nepaug is know as the Tower of Power. Is a another series of fun jumps. The last jump in the series gives the rider the most distance and air time of all.

All along the trail system there are some nice rock drops. Some are incorporated within the trail system and others are off to the side, but are still easily access able. This makes Nepaug of the more rider friendly trails in Northeastern Connecticut.
